Greetings from the Garden City of Singapore!
It is with great pleasure and excitement that I invite you to attend the 20th Annual Conference of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association, to be held in Singapore between 2 to 5 May 2010. We have an exciting programme lined up for you and you will get to hear from prominent key note speakers opening our plenary session on "Climate Change and Legal Practice" - a topic aptly describing both the physical climate that we are experiencing and more so, metaphorically, the economic and financial climate changes that are taking place around the globe. There isn't a better time to talk about "Change" than at the Singapore conference. We are very honoured to have our very own Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew in a special question and answer session. And we are aso fortunate to have the former Vice President Al Gore as a keynote speaker. Vice President Al Gore will be arguing that the physical changes in our planet will eventually influence our global economy, Vice President Gore encourages business audiences to consider broader issues - environmental, social and political - when planning economic strategy. Our host committee members comprise prominent senior lawyers representing Singapore large local and foreign law firms, the Singapore Law Society, Singapore Law Academy, the law schools, inhouse counsel from the MNCs and government linked companies. The IPBA annual conference is the perfect forum to link legal practitioners in the corporate fields in the Asia Pacific region to come together and share your knowledge, renew acquiantainces, make new friends and generally have a good time together with richer experience. We are hosting the Singapore IPBA conference at the soon to be opened Marina Bay Sands integrated resort, a destination resort created from the great change that has moulded Singapore into the exciting place to live, work and play. You will certainly see a completely different Singapore now since our last conference here in 1994. Bring your family along and we have events for everyone. There are new attractions for your accompanying persons to visit while you attend the conference. You and your family will experience the vibrancy, excitement and energy when you visit us in 2010.
